Why is Everyone Talking About Udemy?
If you are a newbie to working from home, there is a chance you are, have been, or will be lost at some point. Where should you turn? Who can answer your questions or teach you something you don’t know how to do? Udemy is a great place to easily learn almost anything.
While working from home, you should always hunt for new resources and tools to help better your business. It doesn’t matter whether you are blogging, freelancing, virtual assisting, etc, you will always need new content and the most up-to-date information, right??
Over the past year, you have heard people talking, or you may have read something about an online learning platform called Udemy. This site, used for online learning, is a great tool for adults to learn new skills for resume or business building purposes. Udemy is great because it allows experts to create lesson plans or courses on whatever their expertise is. They can then offer their courses to the public free, or for a paid price.
Someone to make a course they help you to promote it and allow you to earn money from your tuition paid by students. If you are thinking about dollar signs, I’m right there with ya!
This has been an incredible resource for me in my transition to working at home. Why do I say that? Well, let me tell you.
Learning on Udemy
If you are like me, I quit my day job to be home with my children. Problem was, I still needed to make money to help out with household expenses. What could I do to make extra money from month to month? My first choice was eBay with one major problem. eBay was foreign. I did not understand how to use it. All I had ever known about eBay was how many choice four letter words I heard my sister use when describing her first few months using the popular auction site.
I then freelanced work and a few virtual assisting jobs here and there. You learn that having our own website is a MUST for a freelancer. The reason being set a website is a good way for you to show off work to your future clients. What if you don’t know how to build a website or know anything about web design? This is where Udemy comes in.
To be successful with any home business, it is smart to take advantage of all the resources you can get your hands on. For example, I took a course on Udemy called the 30-day Blog Transformation Challenge Instructed by David Risely.
This course included a ton of great information and was a big help when I constructed my blog. AND, it was free. What’s better than free? These next courses are on my list to complete! There are so many I want to do now, these are just a few.
*Each topic has a current Udemy course for example. There are plenty more related courses available.

Some of those were free, and some I had to pay for. The first and one of the best classes, the 30-Day Blog Transformation Challenge, was one of the free courses so just take your time looking around before you choose one. Google the instructor to see if they are credible sources for the course they are teaching. If the instructor is passionate about the topic the course itself will be way more rewarding for sure.
Creating and Selling Your Udemy Courses
Now, you didn’t he will help you make money and whatever seat you are sitting in, the instructor or the student. Students can use their new knowledge to advance their own businesses and skills, and instructors make money off the tuitions paid for their courses.
The fantastic thing about creating a course on Udemy is you have endless possibilities as far as subject. Are you an artist? Create a course teaching people to draw or paint something. Do you have a YouTube channel and enjoyed making and editing video posts? Create a course teaching other people how to do it too. Hell, I may even register for that one.
Udemy even helps you with ideas on how to promote your course. Things like writing the perfect blog post about your course using social media and posting small portions of your course on YouTube to draw people in. You can check out this post on Udemy’s blog to learn more.
